What Are You Really Hungry for?

When we gather with a group of friends for dinner, someone usually asks, “What are you hungry for? Italian? Mexican?”

I find myself asking this question in the grocery store…. What will make my palate happy? What will satisfy me today? Tomorrow? During the week?

In today’s blog, I am asking a deeper question, “what are you hungry for?” Fuel for the body or food for an emotion?  Are you feeding your body protein and fuel for a healthy lifestyle? If the answer is yes, then eat with joy. If the answer is no, then you have the opportunity to stop and re-think your meal or snack before ingesting it.

Homeless Shelter Care Packages


Tennessee Fitness Spa will be making care packages this year during Thanksgiving week for the Safe Haven Family Shelter in Nashville and a local Waynesboro, TN family. We would love to have all our guests participate by bringing (or mailing) small items such as socks, travel size toiletries, gas cards, grocery gift cards, food items, and small toys.

Needs for Veterans' Care Packages


Tennessee Fitness Spa will be making care packages this year for the Veterans at the TN State Veterans' Home in Murfreesboro. We would love to have all our guests participate by bringing (or mailing) small items such as comfy socks, travel size toiletries, or useful personal items like stamps and stationery. There are currently 12 women and several dozen men at the home. One night during the week of November 11th, we will decorate gift bags, sign cards, write poems, and prepare the boxes, so bring your creative ideas to the Care Package Party.

Our Return Trip to Tennessee Fitness Spa

We usually visit TN Fitness Spa in May of each year, however, due to schedule issues we had to pick a new week so we planned a September vacation instead. We reserved our favorite room, The Penthouse Apartment, and arrived on a beautiful, sunny, Sunday for check-in.
